About the 2022 Audi RS 3 Sedan

The all-new 2022 Audi RS 3 is the quintessential Audi performance car, from its iconic five-cylinder engine to the magic of quattro® all-wheel drive. That powerful, turbocharged engine is an integral part of the DNA of the Audi RS 3. Thanks to constant development and tuning, the newest version of this engine produces 401 horsepower and 369 lb/ft of torque, an increase of 7 horsepower and 15 lb/ft over the outgoing model. The quattro® all-wheel drive system has been similarly upgraded with electronic torque vectoring, as well as selectable drive modes to match the situation - including a mode optimized for drifting. Dynamic, high-performance styling cues inside and out signify to onlookers that this is no ordinary Audi - a sensation you'll feel the moment you step on the accelerator. The Audi RS 3 provides the performance you demand and the excitement that stirs your soul, whether you're commuting to work or setting a lap record on the Nürburgring.

What the Critics Say

"Fast driving also reveals razor-sharp but progressive steering. The slightest steering movements become directional changes. Steering assistance can be adjusted in three stages to suit personal preferences. Audi claims that 62 mph comes up in 3.8 seconds and that the RS 3 tops out at 180 mph. We expect it to be quicker; the old RS 3 could clip off 3.4-second runs to 60 mph." - Car and Driver

"It's the even more extreme 2022 Audi RS 3 that has us dusting off the old race helmet for a track day. Driven by Audi's long-lasting five-cylinder engine, the RS 3 improves upon its predecessor with quicker acceleration, enhanced handling abilities and a greater emphasis on in-cabin technology." - Edmunds

What's New for 2022

Like the A3 sedan it's based on, the 2022 Audi RS 3 is all new. The interior and exterior have been thoroughly revised and restyled. It's slightly longer, lower, and wider, and it's a little bit roomier inside as well. New tech, like a standard 10.1" MMI® touchscreen, makes the driver-focused cockpit more connected. The turbocharged 5-cylinder engine is carried over from the previous model, but it's more powerful in its current iteration. The quattro® all-wheel drive system has been thoroughly reworked and includes a sophisticated Haldex differential with electronic torque vectoring capabilities. From stem to stern, the 2022 Audi RS 3 is a completely new experience for performance drivers.

Audi RS 3 Performance

Power & Performance

With over 400 horsepower on tap, the 2022 Audi RS 3 is a supremely capable performer. In fact, the new RS 3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 4 seconds. The powerful 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine produces an impressive 401 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Power is nothing without control, however. Shifting duties are handled by a seven-speed dual-clutch S-tronic® transmission and sent through all four wheels thanks to legendary quattro® all-wheel drive. Electronic torque vectoring via three selectable drive modes - RS Individual, RS Performance, and RS Torque Rear - allow you to fine-tune performance. RS Torque Rear can send all of the power to the outside rear wheel during cornering, allowing for impressive drifts. Otherwise, the available Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires wrap 19" wheels and grip the road tenaciously. The sport-tuned suspension is a full inch lower than the A3 for superior handling, and available 380mm carbon ceramic front brakes provide prodigious stopping power.

Audi RS 3 Styling

Audi Sport Styling

As previously mentioned, the Audi RS 3 sits one inch lower than the A3, which provides an aggressive, high-performance stance. Two 19-inch wheel designs are offered that show off the painted brake calipers, and, speaking of paint, several exclusive colors, such as the striking Kyalami Green seen here, help the already attention-grabbing RS 3 stand out from the crowd. The flared wheel arches, side air inlets, rear spoiler, aerodynamic lip kit, and prominent exhaust make bold - and functional - statements about the impressive performance that lies beneath the surface. Up front, the black, mask-like grille differentiates the RS 3 from the A3 and S3, while unique LED headlights include a checkerboard motif for the daytime running lights that can also spell the car's name - a fun trick to show off to your friends or competing drivers.

Driver-Focused Cockpit

When you're behind the race-inspired, flat-bottom steering wheel of the 2022 Audi RS 3, you're in total control. Of course, since this is an Audi, you'll still be swaddled in comfortable sport seats, upholstered in quilted leather. High-quality, competition-inspired materials surround you, such as carbon fiber and alcantara. Optionally, special trim can be ordered to match your exterior color choice. You don't have to give up technology in the name of high performance. A 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument display provides performance-oriented digital readouts for all major vehicle functions, and a heads-up display means that you'll never have to take your eyes off the road during high-speed maneuvers. Infotainment duties are handled by a 10.1-inch MMI® touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capability. Other features include a WiFi hotspot and a wireless charging pad for your mobile device.
